MADE SAFE screens products for toxic chemicals that are known to harm human health. Products with this seal do not contain carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, neurotoxins, behavioral toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, toxic solvents, VOCs, or GMOs. Each and every ingredient has been scrutinized by a scientist. The MADE SAFE seal is an independent third-party verification that ends consumer confusion around what to buy.

Our line includes cosmetics, skin care and application tools with an interest in serving the vegan and cruelty free market. Our products are manufactured here in the United States at a current Good Manufacturing Practices facility.
The Made Safe process starts by screening ingredients in products against a comprehensive database of chemicals known to harm human health. The process then goes beyond “red lists” to use the best available data and predictive modeling to screen ingredients for bioaccumulation, persistence, and environmental and aquatic toxicity. With this step, the certification actually aims to close data gaps on chemicals and alter the way products are made in this country.

The MADE SAFE seal solves the chemical conundrum that has vexed consumers for decades. Over 80,000 chemicals are currently in use in the US, and the majority are untested. Increasing studies are linking chemicals in everyday products to a wide range of serious health problems, from cancer, reproductive harm, and endocrine disruption, to learning disabilities, developmental problems, and infertility.
But with scant legislation, little to no regulation around chemicals in commerce, and undisclosed ingredients, it’s nearly impossible for consumers to ascertain whether or not a product may cause harm to their families. What’s worse, consumers are forced to navigate a sea of greenwashing with meaningless claims like “green” or “eco”. While they can turn to single-chemical claims like “BPA-Free” or “paraben-free,” no single trusted symbol has existed to signal consumers that products are truly free from chemicals that can harm their health.
“As a parent, this is the seal I want for the products I use on my own body, for my children and in my home,” says Ziff.
“I came to the realization that the unhealthy, toxic makeup that I was using was compromising my sensitive skin.
